BX16TGS ESTATE FOR SALE

Post by Birotor »

My 1992 BX16TGS Estate is now redundant and is for sale as I have bought a C3. It has an un diagnosed fuel or ignition problem and is a non runner currently and on SORN. Never been welded and MOT until May 2016. Very low milage (under 50,000) and two owners. Body work good except crack in rear bumper. Upholstery perfect. Hydraulics perfect with recent 'octopus' change. First owner was Citroen Slough as a company car, then one owner until 2011.Offers welcome around £1500 but will discuss. In addition spare set of wheels for sale separately.

Hi Eoin

Sorry to hear your parting with it, a lovely example it is too and rare, being blunt as a non runner you will struggle to realise a sensible figure as we all know a non running hydraulic BX is a pain to move, and stop!

I would get the problem resolved, a BX 16 is a fairly simple animal, I imagine its probably a ignition amplifier, or maybe a broken wire.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Agreed, far better to sell with the undiagnosed issue sorted and a longer MOT. Otherwise that price is out of the stratosphere...

At 79 I am not into doing this work! I am totally open to offers and want it off my drive. I am of a mind to simply scrap it.

If you decide to scrap it I'd happy offer you scrap value plus 10% bonus. Advantage to you is that the car would not mindlessly go to waste and you'd be 10% up on the deal you'd get from a scrapyard. I would also collect it.

It's a no brainer!

Eoin, Hi there.
I completely understand :) But please don't scrap it... that'd be a horrible thing to do - I mean, who'd come on here and say they'd mercilessly scrap a BX that is worth saving ;) ?

I hear what you all say. Thanks for comments. Car will be trailered to to Chevronics in the next few weeks for rectification and new MOT. It will then go on the market.

Good, there is no reason to scrap this car. It is I think still one of the carb version engines? If so it is a XU52C and should be fairly easy to get running properly. The mileage is so low, I'd run a flush through the engine as 'mayonnaise' can block the internal oil drain ways, but other than going through it by numbers to sort the non running it will be fine. The motor has at least 150-200k left in it... Good luck with her.
