Not a BX, but a very tasty CX

Post by saintjamesy89 »

Saw this on eBay, as I quite like looking every now and then - just in case sxomething awesome pops up!

The price, colour, lack of bonnet/window and the damage are a big turn off - but a S1 prestige (so LWB) 2.5 turbo petrol is a very attractive thing! It does look like its been stored outside and I know CX's rust for a past time, so perhaps a big spend would be necessary to get it A1, but when there it'd be awesome.

When I showed it to my husband, he said "buy it" which really shocked me, as he's usually the very sensible and practical kind (so not the kind to own a CX) especially wth money and he doesn't really appreciate cars. But I said no, too much work. And where would I put it? Shame, it'd make a lovely companion to the GT :D

My thoughts precisely Tim, still want it though!

One of the pictures show a 'limousine turbo 2' badge on the back which is interesting as I thought UK LWBs were prestige and the french etc Limousine.

Quite, cx 's are lovely, my mate has just resurrected a 1975 mk1 2000 in gold and it's a thing of beauty.

Where on earth has the bonnet gone!

Very nice, at some point in life I will have be the owner of a GTI turbo (the best looking CX IMO) or one of the LWB top specs like this one. I do have CX hankerings but fortunately at the moment nowhere to put one so im safe for now lol.

Who knows! Interestingly the ad says its running and driving nicely now, leading me to believe that it wasn't in the recent past. Wonder how long its been stood? I know first hand the issues that can give cars! The GT is almost there, now its with Rich - when he's finished with it it'll be significantly closer to being 'there'.
