FOR SALE J reg 1.9 D estate

Post by citronut »

i have my old BX 1.9D estate for sale,

no MOT/TAX
she has been parked up for about a year now since my daghter over heated her, not her fault as she was previously a dersh driver,

and she did not realise the cooling fan had not cut in,

no rot
a bit scruffy
GTI front bumpper
GAS FLOWED head
slight weap of oil at cam belt end of cam shaft, understandable at around 240K miles, as cam worn were it sits in the seal
drivers seat knackerd, but the others are ok
did drive very well

open to sensible offers

the car is in
st leonards on sea
east sussex

could do with her moved ASAP as the agents to my workshop are having a purge on cleanning up the yard, and have given me till end of aprill to clear the cars

Hi Malcolm.

Was it overheated to yellow or to red? Yes, I know it's the difference between "almost certainly" and "definitely" head-gasketed..

Does it geyser if removing the rad cap on startup? You've probably got it in your signature, but what colour is it, please. I know someone who likes and uses workhorse BXs and has the odd 1.9D engine knocking about.

sorry she is red arent they all TEA HE,

i think my daughter fairly well cooked it,

i do run my own car repair shop mainly fixing citroens, other makes under protest (screamming and kicking),

i have/did spend quite some time trying to get her to hold water but to no avail,( the BX not my daughter )

i had fitted a new clutch about a week before my daughter cooked her,

trouble is/was my daughter was a long term dersh owner/driver before i gave her my old BX, so i give her the excuse of not beeing used to water cooled cars,

if your freind dose have it and sticks another lump in her, i would like to keep hold of the GAS FLOWED head

Thanks, Malcolm.

Will have a word with my friend and see if he's interested. If he is, he does have a trailer, but what he thinks will be dependent on yard space too. When last seen, his yard was a little clogged with an aged caravan undergoing serious repair, and a motor home about to be returned to the owner.

As you say, they nearly all are red - and probably faded too. Remarks about the head noted.

Could you PM or post an idea of how much you are looking for, please?

I finally got to have a longer chat with my friend this weekend.

Unfortunately he's not exactly flush with yard space either at the moment, though he does have lumps which might go in it.

Sorry, it has to be a no, Malcolm.

Looks like it's going to the crusher then!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I don't think the 'open to sensible offers' is working. Last throw - why not say gratis to an enthusiast? Might work - and if it doesn't a small cash bonus awaits.
