FOR SALE - BX TXD 1.7 TurboD Saloon £400 & Toyota Celica

Post by andmcit »

My pal has a silver late K plated BX 1.7 TXD that needs to go as part
of his ongoing fleet reduction. The car is located near Cardiff, South Wales.

Image

MILEAGE IS IN THE REGION OF 130K MILES - may even be nearer 110k!!
FULL MOT - I believe it's imminent and will pass if not done so already!
Watch for updates...

I'm a sad petrolhead so this TD isn't for me although it is a nice car and I believe worthy of his 400 asking price if not due to the fact it does 50+ mpg, is
mechanically sortedd and comes with many nice bells & whistles (and spares)
as well as a new long MOT!!

The car is 100% reliable and in fact has been withdrawn from sale several
times as it always seems to steal favor over other Citroens which manage
to throw a strop and need some remedial spannering; this one just sits
there always bailing out the others to spare their embarrassment!!

The first batch of the following pictures were taken a while ago now and some here may even recall the last ad and showed interest;the sale toseverl parties never completed through no fault of the car. So to date, the pram handle spoiler has been unbolted and GTi alloys fitted instead
of the steels and Citroen issue wheeltrims - the steels are about with
good tyres and if they can be found the wheeltrims. See the later pics
for the "new uncluttered look" and legobrick rims. A used black rubber
(genuine Citroen) lip spoiler is included but not fitted among a few other
bits'n pieces off another BX.

The bodyshell is very sound and straight and mush better than recent
BX's I've seen so it has worn exceptionally well. For sure, there are going
to be a few minor rust blemishes and this sin't being described as rust
free, just thre's nothing significant and/or unsightly. Where I've seen
Bx's rot badLy on the sills, boot and rear 1/4 door jambs this looks like
it's several weeks old, not years! The only letdown on the body has been
the bubbling paint on the spoiler seen in the last pair of pics which was
one reason it was removed.

The spheres seem fine and the car rides very well and you'll obviously
know these piddle all over any new car for comfort on the roads these
days and this one won't dissappoint either! Most of the exhaust is recent
and as previously mentioned extra tyres are included.

The car has a decent set of rear parcel shelf speakers and the Alpine
head unit works well but needs wiring back in as it was 'borrowed' for
another car!!

UPDATED PICCIES!!

I've just download some recent pics off my pal's cameraphone that are
about a week or so old to help show the wheels and the effect of the
removed spoiler - this is currently in the back footwell and can go back
on should you need somewhere to stand your coffee mug ;):

As far as I understand it, the towbar has rarely been used and towed a
small trailer for garden rubbish to the tip rather than a caravan. The
clutch feels light but could require renewal in midterm future as it seems
a bit high but is smooth with no slip and my pal see's no reason why it
cannot expect to give 1000's more miles yet.

The additional spares include mirrors, lights, window mechanisms/glass, a
spare parcel shelf without holes cut through it, alternator, hydraulic pump,
hydraulic FDV, A PAIR OF BRAND NEW DRIVESHAFTS as well as a NEW
CV joint kit with boot etc etc...

OK, so preaching to the converted here and whilst not as rare a sight as
an XM or CX is very likely to be one of the few remaining daily use cars
you can buy that actually have that extra something about them that
stands them above the rest and rewards you with what some call
'character'!! :D

Call/text Peter, the owner on 07738705007 for more details and a natter.

He also has his daughter's stricken head gasket Toyota Celica GTi for
a bit more money (serious offers) if you fancied something a bit different
although that doesn't have (ANY!!) noticeable suspension actually fitted from new! ;)

Nice car - it looks so much better without the spoiler. I hate the hoops as they seem to have no reason to exist except to block out yet more rear vision.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

That BX looks surprisingly modern, must be the silver paint. Best of luck, you will find a buyer I'm sure.

Looks like you could do a lot worse than that BX! Very nice.

Thankyou :)

I had a 1.4 rendezvous years ago and loved it to bits, we now have an estima as our main car (4 kids :o ) and need a 2nd vehicle, handily for me these are still cheap to insure and hopefully i can come to some arrangement over this one, I'm more than happy with the price i just haven't worked out the best way to collect from cardiff :D

What a numpty I am, when I looked over the weekend the mileage is 113k,
not 130k...

fresh from it's new MOT pass 10 miles ago!!

I connected the radio back in for Peter so it's all set for action with tunes
along the way too!!

now (almost!) on the way Northwards bound!!

Image

as pictured over the weekend! That'll teach me to hurry my camera taking!

Nice car but I like petrol power even with daft fuel consumption so this one's
rekindled my enthusiasm to get my phase2 16v going properly - I've NEVER
driven mine far yet!!! (long story  )

Don't suppose anyone knows of a presentable 16v phase2 front bumper?
(in white would be VERY nice!)
