I do tend to agree Mulley. It's also because - after a very long wait - the BX is beginning to emerge as a bit of a closet classic. And seeing as an 8v GTi will see off many a modern rival in the £10,000 price bracket I guess it might be considered 'good value'

Bar the god awful wheel trims, I'd say thats absolutley worth it.
Thats one of the best E bay descriptions I've read in bloody ages, the car looks great (even the headlamps look new).
It clearly deserves a good home.
Top marks for an excellent descriptoin, although "adjustable steering"? Huh?
If I had enough cash laying around that wasn't ear marked for the bus I'd buy that for more than the current bid.

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

A very good price, lets hope the new owner joins the forum & we can find out a bit more about the car, lets hope the mechanicals are in good order.

So whats a BX16V worth now?
It will be interesting seeing what Ollies' car sells for.
Should be £1000+ . After all, 16Vs are far rarer than 8V GTIs.
But these prices appear high to me when £2300 will buy a 90k year 2000 Peugeot 406 coupe V6.
Perhaps there were only 2 people bidding after a nice GTI, and one has just bought one so prices will now fall...

Prices for BX's i've always found strange, sometimes they go for peanuts & othertimes they go for as much as this one. Supply & demand possibly?
Someone clearly wanted this badly enough to pay that sum of money, however, if they've got a fantastic example & will possibly be keeping it for a longtime, then its still good value longterm.
I know 16v's are supposed to be rare, but i reckon that this might not be the case anymore. I think i've seen less 8v's over the last year than valvers for sale. The rarest of course is the 17 n/a not including the 1.1 litre (never exported to the uk?) or the 4tc models of course.
Hopefully this will be one of many as part of a renaissance of this particular model of citroen. Afterall the parts are cheap, diy is possible & they still can keep up with modern cars & all have decent fuel economy combined with comfort (that most modern cars seem to be unable to manage due to hard seats & stiff suspension).
Will have to see what the next decent one goes for.

Srsly? Been offered one of those cheap (needs some work) and turned it down flat as thought they would be slightly less popular than me at a VW meeting.

406 coupe' Luvely looking car.
That coupe must be one of the prettiest cars of the 1990s.
Nice engine the V6 too.
The shape could have been used for a marque far more pricey than a Peugeot.
Its only badge snobbery that stopped them selling heaps of them in the UK. People are scared of the fuel consumption on the bigger engine too.
I like my BX, but shes not much of a looker next to one of those.
Thats what I will get if the BX expires. ( and a MX5 )
