I'm glad you've seen the light now :!: and have made your mind up that you want a 1.7 TD, =D>
All you need to do now is to wait patiently for a good one to come along as I'm sure it will and snap it up !

Whether it's it's an Estate or a Hatchback version does not really matter, there both good in there own way's and the hatchback has still a very good load hugging capacity compared to a lot of today's modern car's of a similar size.

So if your not to bothered and have not got a preference, the main thing is that it's NOT in a STATE where it needs lot's of work and money thrown at it.
It's just a case of waiting for the right car to come along, as the saying goes 'buy with haste and repent at leisure' unfortunately young James AKA Tourist can vouch to that, but at least he now has a nice 'N' reg. TZD :D

I think by darker in a way he meant metallic. Red is the worst but white can look fine with a good clean and polish, mine is white and although I would rather have it in the brilliant silver moss that suits it SO WELL it still looks pretty good, you can also use t-cut, don't buy for the colour because there aren't enough around to do that.

Recent scruffy diesel n/a estate - "The Red Shed" - is no longer mine.

There are 3 simple rules for buying a BX as regular transport - condition, condition and condition (mechanics, hydraulics, structural bodywork).

Almost anything else is a bonus nowadays...
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

White is probably the easiest colour to match if you get any painting done.

I have a red BX, and agree that the annual polishing it needs (but does not always get) is a bit of a pain.

BUT as stated above, buy on condition, colour is not important.

I would sooner have a red non-rusty or leaky BX than an other colour which is a leaky rust bucket.

Polishing is cheap, easy and can be prosponed with no ill effects!

They tend to be pink rather than red.

Interesting, seeing as their are no electronics in a diesel n/a
