Anyone want a TZD estate?

Buy or sell parts etc. Please put 'Wanted' in the title if it is a request for parts.

Anyone want a TZD estate?

Post by ken newbold »

This one on ebay looks the business, not expensive and looks like a VERY genuine advert.

My advise here would be get your readies out and get it bought. Left to auction this will make far more than the seller is expecting. Don't delay :!:

Minor caveats:

The clunk could be a droplink or something else rather than a TRE. Heater fan problems are well-documented here.

As it's been doing tiny mileage for the last seven years I'd factor in the probable need for new tyres all round on age-related grounds, even if garaged . Some other rubber components may have degraded but only show this on sustained use - e.g. belts and hoses, return pipes. Service history will provide pointers for this and other things.

Otherwise - seems good, from the description.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

I'm going for this, I think, subject to viewing. I'm contacting the seller now...

I've only got one BX... and I need to replace our Fiat. But it's an open market... I don't have the right to elbow aside any other interested Parties!

Good luck to both of you, if I were in the market for one of these, I would have been off for this one. :)

Tis true.

Just seems a little silly pushing up the price. But I suppose that's the whole idea of ebay... :D

Sold last night. But not to me  (I had arranged to see it/buy it this lunchtime... just shows, you have to be mega quick these days to bag a decent TZD estate!).

If it was you, ritmo, who bought it, well done! =D> If not, I hope the new owner joins our club 8)

Sadly not. Wasn't quick enough. I hope it has gone to as happy a home as one of us will have given it.

So, I'm after a rather popular car I see.

If sold, the seller seems a bit slow to state this on ebay- assuming it is a done deal.
So, I'm after a rather popular car I see.
In certain circles - but with 12 months of MOT (if not very much tax) then something like this could also make sense to a lot of non-BX people as a fairly frugal load-lugger.

If you're prepared to it tight for something without that obvious selling point - and you are also prepared to consider a bit of remedial work on something less immediately attractive - something may well turn up that attracts less interest.

Relatively low-mileage TZD estates with few previous owners don't turn up very frequently nowadays.

Apparently the guy had loads of calls etc. including someone from as far afield as Wigan. A couple of people offering to buy it at £425 cash, unseen. As it happens the buyer got in there last night (despite the fact the seller told me I couldn't see it until today because he was going out last night  ) before any other interested parties - paid the dosh and off he went.

What is it with trying to buy a car on eBay at the moment? There have been four disappointments for me and the wife recently - usually you can't get in touch with the seller - you want the car, put a good bid in, or press the Buy It Now, wait for the 'well done' e-mail, instead: "Sorry mate sold it this morning.." sort of crap. Flap cheese.

You probably would have missed it anyway. At least two of us were hot on the case, but someone snapped it up the same day it was listed.
