1993 Citroen Bx 1.9d 23k! £POA

Ok so its not that simple, there is some assembly required. The car has only covered 23k approx, and hasn't been on the road since 1995.

A bit of back story; when the car was 18months old, it was involved in a head on shunt, at the time it was still worth a fair bit of money, so the garage where I work bought it along with a brand new shell from citroen.

The shell's paint was contracted out and is now finished in Triton Green, all the doors and the boot have been hung and the engine and interior has been refitted.

Still to do from what I can see is to fit a new windscreen, refit the bonnet and front wings, and paint and fit the front bumper.

The engine runs but runs rough, so that will need checking over, but its possibly down to the fact that it has been sat in the back workshop since 1995.

Oh that has got to find a good home what a find i wont ask how much its just too tempting what must it be like to drive a bx with only 23k on clock mmmm
like a new car me thinks.

Erm, let me get this right, car is in bits, engine not working that well, will need all 5 spheres plus lhm replacing along with 4 tyres, no mot & you're hoping for a sale just because its got 23k on the clock

I applaud your optmism, perhaps if it was finished off with a 12mth ticket you may get a few hundred quid, but as it stands its scrap value i'm afraid.

It would certainly be a good save if someone could take it on though.

I'm not sure I agree with you Mulley - it's probably the only way to get effectively a brand new shell now. So if (and it's a big if) I had an otherwise decent car, but terminal rust (and didn't mind a fairly epic swapping session!) this would be worth a few quid to me...

Limited appeal, but probably the only chance of such a purchase!

Me too, a 'new never been on the road shell = scrap!'

It's a fanatics dream and things are so easy to swap on a BX it'll be worth every ounce of effort for what could very easily be a concours example.

Mind you if its not run for 14 years would it all be seized? is everything there to complete it?

No you misunderstand, it's not been on the road for 14 years, we had it running last winter, albeit briefly, this also included getting the suspension pumped up.

As far as I'm aware all the parts to complete are with the car, its been kept inside since the shell was delivered, I'd be surprised if you found another like that outside of a museum.

Ahh ok, surely as its so near completion it would pay dividends to fit the missing bits and get it running properly with a fresh MOT, as it sounds like it wouldnt take more than a weekend.

As far as I can remember, no sunroof but I will check that for you.

Thing is roverman, only the garage owner works on the weekends, and during the week we are usually too busy to be rebuilding something that, let's be fair is already a big hole burnt in the company's pocket.

It looks to be a 19TG/XD to me so should have a sunroof, unless of course it was rebuilt with a "non sunroof" shell?

that would be ideal as I find the sunroof a PITA. If it is sunroof free, it'd suit a tall person, or least tall from 'arse to head' like David Rutherford!

I think i must have missed something here, its not moved in 14 years & some of you think its a new car?, its still got 23k on the clock, so if some old duffer owned it, could need a new clutch anytime soon

I'll concede that its certainly a one off, but that doesnt mean its not going to cost way more to get it roadworthy that it'll ever be worth, & lets not forget, its just a boring 1.9 diesel. The word "Fanatic" was used, i concur if this is going to be saved.

Still scrap value imho, not that i believe it should be scrapped. Certainly worth more in parts, except the bits that haven't moved for 14 years as they'll be either seized or certainly more worn than expected.

So who's going to make an offer & buy it, to potentially have the only concors bx in the uk? It'll even make Tim's cars look rubbish
