I doubt you'll find good second-hand speakers - they just disintegrate with time. Get yourself to an ICE specialist and see what they've got - bearing in mind the warning I gave you about speakers that are too large not fitting...
Reckon its the right car to have in the event of a nuclear blast. Finish is somewhat similar to the antiflash white paint originally painted on Vulcan's and Victors and the like.

thinks......hmmmm maybe a big RAF antiflash roundel would look cool on the bonnet alone with some fin flashes and the RP number down the side in a light blue...

Ah, now I have seen the photo I reckon it's some kind of Faraday shield, probably to prevent the ignition system causing radio interference. I guess Mike E is the best bet to say as he's the radio guru!
I've never been impressed with the BX speaker supports - it seems like any decent amount of bass simply vibrates the mounting rather than the speaker cone!
6.5" in the front and 4" (too small IMO) in the back if that helps.

then it can be fixed if you or the owner is handy with some 3mm plate, a drill, a hammer, a couple of files and some good quality automotive gasket sealant.

Cheap and a couple of hours work to make the part.

A repair, one that I've done, one that works, one that cost me naff all.

A bodge is to stuff it up with filler and pray.

What's your solution that will cost nowt then?
