Quick Question

Just need some advice because we're not sure, how much is this 1.9 clutch worth? Never been used and in the box but theres some very slight surface rust on the plate.

Ebays a good way to check how much they are fetching, what make is it though? If its a genuine one then how much would a new one cost.

If you're keeping the car, i've been advised that Valeo is the best followed by LUK, dont bother with anything else regardless of price. Piccy is too blurry to make out what the make is. Oh, recon one's apparently are rubbish, cheap but dont last that long apparently, hopefully some other members may be able to offer their advice on this subject with their own personal experiences.

Thanks for the replies, just checked it's Valeo, but there is some fine rust on the plate. Someone has offered us £25 for it so was wondering what was what.

We got given it with the TXD when we bought it.

in GSF's 06 catalouge they list BX clutch's around 60 to 70 quid + VAT dependant on modle/engine,

the slight rust can be cleaned away with emery cloth,

I'd personally keep hold of it, they seem to be getting more expensive to buy & you'll be guaranteed that you'll probably need it in the future. As for £25, thats a bargain for the purchaser, i'd personally pay more than that as they are pricey these days.....

Agreed whilst your running a 1.9D and its in good order asides the surface rust for £25 I would keep it just in case because you can guarantee a few months after youve sold it yours will need changing.

Surface rust means nothing on the pressure plate, remembering its just a big brake disc and pad do you worry if the discs on your car are a little rusty?

Last couple of new old stock clutch i've bought have been around £50 including P+P. I'm not afraid of reman clutches, never had problems with them, but i'll probably be fitting something from the EBC range next, premium price, premium performance, but low usage so worth it.

eBaY is a pretty wank way of finding out prices tbh as most items are either bumped up by schillers or stupidly priced in the first place.
Also what makes good money one day can fetch sod all the next.
