Sounds like you should stick to the buses! I'm paying less with 1 years ncb and my car's insurance group 9
But where do you live?

I realise it sounds like a lot, and I'm in the process of re-shopping around. Sometimes though, there are combinations that really make it end up costing a lot.

Where I used to live it would have been a lot cheaper. City centre living eh?

My niece is 18, she reduced her premium significantly by using a company who fit a tracker to your car, the downside is you can't use it after 11 at night.

This is the time most accidents happen i believe, don't know the name of the firm but i could find out.

After having tried a load of companies only a few months ago, and finding my current provider still the cheapest, I've just had a cursory scout around and have beaten my monthly premium by quite a bit. Not bad at all. :D

Still a lot of places quoting silly prices purely because of my postcode. Tried with my Mum's address in a "nicer" area and the price drops a lot.

I've tried some comparison websites in the past, my insurance ranged from £200 to £1000, i guess the more expensive one's just weren't interested in my business

Have you thought about pass plus, that can save probably about 40% usually, a lad at work did this.

Pass Plus only works some of the time, check with the insurer because some companies don't give discounts for it, or the discount is less than the course cost.
