Hi,

Your motor possibly needs new brushes - not available from Citroen or Valeo but the whole blower unit is still available but it's around the £200 mark.

That being a bit on the steep side the other alternative if no-one has a motor for you, is to make new brushes by filing / sanding down some larger brushes to the right size.

Brushes for high voltage equipment are a different composition to those for low voltage - low voltage brushes are 'harder' and have a much higher copper content - about the only starting point these days is to use brushes from battery power tools.

The Citroen brushes are 7.43mm x 5.91mm - I've recently bought some Makita 191971-3 (which is a pair of part no 6434308) which are 7.18mm x 6.85mm with the intention of modifying them to the Citroen dimensions but I haven't got around to it yet - I'll post the results when I do.

Cheers,
Brian.

Ah - that's a much better deal - being new, the commutator will be perfect too - I'm tempted to take that route myself - thanks.

Are you sure it is your motor? It often isn't the motor on the BX, have you tested the motor or checked you have a live feed at the motor end?

Unless you've already ordered one, I'm sure I can fix you up with the motor for one of these.

Am I right in thinking the D reg BX won't have a module in to worry about?
