SOLD: Green Tiger - 19TGD estate
This is one of those where if it doesn't go, I won't mind, because it's still a bloomin' good car - but I'm a man with a typically high turnover of vehicles (albeit nowhere near as bad as Roverman!) and I'm forever looking for the next motor.
The Green Tiger was purchased in Sept 09 primarily to do the BXagon. However, so happy to be back in a BX was I that I'm still using her daily now. She had 142k on the clock then, and 155k now. Last year, she was serviced, had a new alternator, had a replacement strut pipe, had a second hand bottom hose fitted on the BXagon and also had a good flushing before fresh coolant was added.
This year, she's had two new tyres, a reconditioned front strut, a new battery, another service, LHM flush and a fresh cambelt. Oh and new handbrake cables.
Good points
Full service history
Lots spent in my ownership
Towbar with twin electrics
Drives well
MoT until May, Tax until Feb
Bad points
Driver's sill will need some attention after a jacking disaster the other day
Heater is operated by what looks like a bike brake cable
Slight oil leak (bit messy rather than pouring out)
What say you to £450?

You get through more BXs than me Tim!
Stripes are staying. Either someone will take her like she is or I'll keep her. To be honest, after the drive in this morning, I'm really not 100% sure that I want to sell, but the problem is, there is a huge list of cars I'd one day like to own, and I can't keep 'em all!

Don't sell it before we have had a BXAGON reunion at the national
We could line them up as we did in Calias.
Hope Arctic steel will be there.
Matt and Mike E and maybe even Jaba.
Even Todd may come over
Regards Kermit

Back to the top for this. I'm glad I didn't sell when I started this thread - car proved invaluable during the house move - but I'm itching to get something else now and have strict limits on the number of vehicles I'm allowed to own at once!
So, what's changed since I first posted the ad?
Starter motor. A good second hand one has been fitted.
Serviced about 2000 miles ago.
Thermostat replaced, though housing still seeping a little (loses 1ltr every 500 miles).
Two new tyres will be fitted tomorrow (I've had them since last year, but the rears are a bit naughty now).
Apart from the last service, full service history from new!
Now has 163k on the clock, but the heater tap is jammed open. Still covered in green stripes, but they're vinyl, so can be removed. There is some corrosion to the left hand rear wing and I reckon the sills will need a tickle with a welder for the MOT, which is not due for some time.
Given the short T&T, £295 anyone?
