Tescos wiper blades

Post by Philip Chidlow »

I have used these before and they're OK. Don't know if it's just my local store or a national thing...

20" single: £1.50 at the moment. I bought one for the BX and a pair of 22" for the same price there this evening for the XM. Really. How cheap can you get ? And they work OK.

Thanks for the tip Phil but I personally only ever fit Bosch blades now, wasted that much money / time on inferior blades that squeak, crack , split , go hard , don't clear the screen properly, don't bend, craze the glass etc. Experience has given me personally 100% confidence in Bosch Blades only.

And yet I've had exactly the opposite experience. Bosch blades being utterly crap and not clearing the window at all.

Tesco value wipers don't last that long (about a year at most) but they work very well indeed.

I've given up on Bosch blades. They're rubbish. Now have a flat blade. Much better. Tesco blades sound bloomin' cheap though - ideal for the rear wiper if nothing else!

The problem with the Tesco cheapo old style is that they rust through very soon and then seize up and don't form to the windscreen.

The flatblade style started out ok and lasted well but it juddered like hell after a bit. Aside from that, for some strange reason they don't look right on a BX.

I've found Valeo wipers crap. Bosch ones are good for a bit, but after 6 months at best are no good. Just bought a pair of carplan wipers for £3 - so far very good. Don't think they'll rust like the cheapo Tesco and are 1/4 price of a Bosch!
