Very nice. I knew a time would come when a good GTi 8v would be recognised in pricing. I'm not saying this is an achievable price, but best of luck selling. 8)

Do you mean the red sticker? The red L.E.D? or the dial with red around it? The latter i believe is sommat to do with heater controls.

Post by zowark »

Hi Jackson, swap for your TZD??
I'll try to sell first.... :)

The red thing is a sign.
"Fasten seatbelts" I know it's tacky. but it is period. 8)
Rd Led beside it is for the alarm. (alarm not working)

as a fellow citroen enthusiast in ireland with a keen eye for what comes up here, i'd say this looks like a very good example. Car prices for the bx i think would be a little higher here for a good one as they are alot rarer.

I have been driving my auto XM and have enjoyed it immensely over the last year for things like quietness, refinement and the big citroen ride, but i am feeling a pull back towards my fondness for the smaller car / noisy, racey engine combination creeping back in, and back off holiday today i took the BX TZD out for a spin, and i've been trying to rationalise selling her for a whole year, but everytime i drive it, i just love it too much. If driving has ever been a bore or a pain to anyone, the BX has a unique combination of fun, economy, visability, and certainly from my tinkerings and reports here, ease of DIY maintanance that i have not experienced in any other car. I just got a really nice 1988 Saab 900 turbo for the missus in London for £900, which i've been loving and have been feeling like it might be stealing my affections away from the Citroen marque, but fear not! :D The way you can charge a TZD through the bends and stop from a fast pace in about 10 meters is astouding. It is a special machine. It's only a matter of time before more of the motoring world comes round to apprecitaing this much fun in driving.

BX GTI still undervalued in general ...

Post by zowark »

Hi Max....

I know my asking price is a bit on the high side.
But that is only to reflect that it IS a good car and I'd like a good home for it or I'll keep it!

I have had several Citroens in the past my self from 1978 CX 2000 break to 1981 GSA Club to 1986 BX 16TRS and a 1995 Xantia TD.

Looking at European prices, our prices here in Irland and UK are still quite low for the old BX I think.
Here is a good website for European Cars:
http://www.autoscout24.de/ListGN.aspx?v ... 705&desc=1

The beige 16RS in NL-9745 EA GRONINGEN is like the 1986 one I had :D ...

Your quote "It's only a matter of time before more of the motoring world comes round to apprecitaing this much fun in driving." is well said.....

BX GTI 8V NOT FOR SALE anymore....

Post by zowark »

Hi All,

after even more thought and
3 callers that were quite interrested in my BX
 I took the car off the market. :!:

The other car I was eyeing up was not all it seemed to be and therefore I might as well hang onto my trusty Bx.
16 years (over 110k miles) is a long time to have her I would miss her.

So thanks for the opputunaty to post the car for sale here.
It might happen again... Maybe in 10 years time.

In the mean time I keep reading bits and pieces in this great Fourm. :)
