spoke to my locaL citroen specialist today, and he metioned that he has a "new" metal bonnet for a BX! So if anyone is after a new bonnet, let me know,
why did citroen make metal bonnets?? my L reg bx has a metal bonnet, a 16 petrol,

New Metal bonnet!
GSA X1,GSA estate, GSA PALLAS C-matic,Simca 1100,Renault 16TX auto, yellow Visa super E, wanted mk1 bx!
There's all sorts of thoughts as to why, but just to confuse matters some early MK1 BX's had steel bonnets too !Adrian E wrote:..... Believe it was because they were nearing the end of production and doing another batch of plastic bonnets was going to cost more than knocking some up in steel. This could be nonsense and potentially related to EU regs changes instead....
I had a 19RD which a steel bonnet and a 19DTR with a plastic one, both were the long nosed type and on a 'C' plate/reg.
Also the later steel bonnets which were used on the likes of the TXD models were the short nosed type.
So there you have have it, no real reason or logic behind as to why
