BX for sale

Post by Pete Clarke »

Hi! I have recently inherited from my 93 year old Dad a J reg. (1991) Silver BX Meteor. He bought it new in 1991 and has been the only owner. He never really used it a lot and in the last few years did only a few miles a year. The mileage of 40,000 is absolutely genuine. His skill at getting it and out of the garage diminished with age and there is some slight damage to the front and rear N/S panels. The vehicle was always garaged, serviced and maintained for MOT and as required. The car is currently SORN and the MOT has expired.
I'm looking to sell it but my need to be rid of it is greater than my need to realise any great financial return. It will have to be collected from my home in Coventry.Make me an offer? Pete

What is the 'Meteor' BX when it's at home anyway? Goes as fast as one of course. Some pics perhaps? Google provided no enlightenment.

Yet another grandad special. Though 93 really takes the biscuit! :D

The meteor is a 16TGS or 19TGD, with GTi rear spoiler, metallic paint (grey or silver I think), black interior with sports seats and steering wheel, colour coded bumpers, and power steering (normally an option on the 16 petrol) plus meteor side stripe and transfers.

The meteor was replaced by the "TX" models which are basically the same with different badges, but now available as a TD aswell.

That depends what you put in the search box...

Welcome along Pete, hope it finds a good home. With a message after 3 minutes of posting then it seems highly desirable!

Condolences Pete, and thanks for offering the Meteor on BXClub - I'm sure it will find a home where it will be looked after.

Todd will probably know the Meteor better as the BX Image as sold in Europe, although with a more limited range of engines and body colours for Blighty

I actually saw an Image last week in a French scrappers - well, what was left of it! It had very fetching black seats with a red pin-stripe.

I have heard back from Peter today and unfortunately (for me) this is a 16TGS petrol and is therefore not of interest to me. He is willing to send photos to interested parties but has mentioned he may not be able to do this until next week.
