Friday, Oscar! If Phil really wanted it I could wait for one a bit longer, but I'm going to need one whilst mine undergoes surgery. And if you're in a hurry to sell, Oscar, I could come and have a look sooner...Oscar wrote:Oh shit. Sorry Phil, Steve. Fingers faster than brain. Steve we'll talk later.

A plan is firming up in my mind, so I will need to source a good TZD Turbo hatch, in white if at all possible. Not until next year - before the summer hopefully.
Failing that I might stretch to a good Ph. 1 16v, although I appreciate we are talking more spondooliks here.
Alternatively - at a stretch - an 8v GTi, but it'd have to be pin sharp as the ones I've seen recently are a bit shabby in body and mechanics.
One thing I have to ask: has anyone actually removed a sunroof from a BX and replaced it with sheet metal?

A bodyshop could do this, but you would be adding a potential rusting point.
Easiest method would be to cut the roof off a non sunroof car ( using a large can opener) and fit that in the hole. You would use the roof lining from the donor car.
(The donor car would then be a BX decapotable.)
If it was done carefully should be OK.
It would reduce wind noise and save some weight. And the drain holes would never get blocked again.
I like sunroofs, but agree they can be a pain on old cars.

It might be clever now, but it won't be in the morning!

Not Hugo... is it? Not sure I would pay much for it, but I shall ask Remy. If I remember I passed it up nearly a year ago, as I had an XM in mind...
If the one they have is Hugo it won't necessarily be in decent order if it's been unused... it had issues a year ago, I seem to remember.
