Need a plastic bit
Hi guys,
I really need the plastic air intake part that connects the carb to the air filter for a BX14, mine has a bit snapped off so won't seal. The car is doing 26mpg at the moment and it's really slow.
Anyone breaking a BX14 or got this part? It's quite desperate as I commute to London every week and come back home every weekend (250 mile round trip).
Thanks guys

There seems to be a couple of different filter set ups for these 14's, but I'm sure that the one I have is similar to the one used on some AX's - it may be worth checking local scrappies for these (or even ZX's maybe) to see if you can find something that fits.Joking apart, have you tried your local main stealer? as its a 1.4TU they MIGHT be able to get one?

Thanks for your replies everybody! I have just emailed Medway, and I will post my chassis/VIN number in the morning when it's light (thanks Citronut). It may be worth a try Tim, I had completely disregarded my local motor factors!
I have just got in to my place in London, 115 miles on half a tank of fuel... I think it might have carb issues and/or be misfiring (sounds growly and throaty), the bodge of duct taping AND I got some wire and secured it with that too, has made no difference. Poo If it wasn't a nice car otherwise, I would be upset with it and pissed off.

Yay! Got nearly all the parts I need to make my BX nice! A chap on AX forum was selling an AX GT engine, but he was prepared to break it. I now have a 32/34 Z2 carb, inlet manifold, alternator (mine sings away, well more like shrieks!), plastic air intake bits specific to this carb, new distributor, new coil and I think there were some other bits, all for £100 posted!!
