Feel there's no point in hanging about.

OK I might've been rash. And if it had worked out to not be so crumbly, I might have allowed myself a smile of satisfaction. But, as they say, pride comes before a fall.

If anyone wants to make me an offer and are able to pick it up soon, I will always give consideration and withdraw it from eBay if it's going to help me recover a decent proportion of my costs.

Phil,
If it does not meet the reserve sell the wheels for a ton (£100 which is what there worth even with crap tyres) and then sell the engine to a Pugster's for a a ton and then weigh the shell in for £50 + any spares/interior you may sell in the mean time is a bonus !

I thought pug boy's pay £500+ for these engines? Let's hope someone buy's the car to get it back on the road.

Yep, engine and loom with ECU is easily worth £500, and given that the pug boys tend to rebuild them anyway I doubt a burnt valve would put them off.

It's tempting for spares, it really is, but getting it home could be an issu, and frankly I have nowhere left to put a mini let alone a BX..

GTi you say? You have another car in the pipeline? Or are my beer goggles malfunctioning?

Well, I don't need to sell for much to recover my costs. It isn't, after all worth a fortune anyway... Unfortunately I see little point in not offering for sale when the decision has been made... Sorry about the timing!
