Seems like it could be an easy fixer upper, and might be of interest to someone.

It seems the seller has just joined the forum judging from the username. (In which case, welcome if you are reading this!)

Perhaps we should talk him into keeping it, as rear arm bearing replacement is not difficult if you know what your doing.

Already going in this thread

I would be having a punt at this one if it wasn't so far south again, I'm fed up of keep going down south to bring them back north but there doesn't seam any doubt all the best finds are down south now.

on a rule of thumb - how much would a rear bearing be, fitted from a £45p/h garage.

150 a side is what I've paid over the last ten years.

I would but I'm sorry to say, the Citroen is just not my sort of car (as Campbell knows, I'm a Jaguar/Rover/Triumph and Vauxhall man  )

If it makes the difference, I'm happy to do the arm for the cost of the parts (about £50 from the bay of evil) but I'd rather just move it somewhere it can be loved. That includes the frozen north as I have a car trailer but diesel isn't cheap and the new tow vehicle will be diesel.

Heh, heh the Astra I had from you is still running around quite happily mate, you sure you don't want a nice "run to the dump" motor?

My next car shuffle is in April - when the smart roadster comes out of hibernation. I'm allowed a new car when the green XM goes. And I want an older Citroen for the 2012 Citroen Challenge.

I did two runs to the tip on Sunday - in the green XM !!!

Saw a fabulous Daf 33 there (just visiting) and a superb XM yesterday (a 2.0 CT VSX)

Glad to hear the Astra cabrio is still running fine - work is moving soon too and I am going to lose the secure storage in work's car park, which is when decisions about cars will be made.

I know where there's a tempting 1980 GSA, T&T.... if I wasn't off on my GS project, I'd be inclined.

spoke to him earlier and awaiting some pics - it sounds like a reasonable car!

He's in two minds about selling, I haven't space right now, so it suits me that it may take a few months to perhaps buy it.
