Wanted: Oil filler/dipstick housing

Post by Wooscary »

As above. Mine has completely disintegrated.

Any thoughts on availability for one of these gladly received, not been able to move the car all week and caught myself looking at MK3 Golfs on Ebay yesterday! The shame!

Cheers

Ok, that's great thanks.

So you mean it's just a filler and I'd have no dipstick? That doesn't seem like the biggest problem, as long as I keep an eye on oil level I guess?

Thanks again, I'll get on to Citroen.

Picked this up today and unfortunately it looks wrong, doesn't look like it will connect up at all.

Does anyone have one anywhere?

Scratch that, just found one on Ebay. I was searching "oil filler" and not "oil breather" before.

you will have a dipstick in a meatal tube going into the crank case,

so how does the breather you bought from citroen differ from the one on your car, as that bis what came up on service citroen useing your VIN No.,

The one in the car looks like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1442wt_907, with a dipstick in the cap on top.

The one from Citroen on that part number is much shorter/smaller, only has one hole in the side for a hose to attach to, doesn't have the same attaching set up at the base.

By "XANT" were you referring to a Xantia? I'm really confused, ha ha, doesn't take much.

Isn't that the part # for the filler in petrol engines? I thought we're talking diesel here?

See the pics I posted on another thread for the part #:s for different diesel models.
