BX for sale. IF anyone's interested...

I know, I know. I will not scrap this, and I will sell to someone who will keep it on the road, but there are so many other factors. As it is, the GS plan isn't going anywhere because the old chap who owns the example I'm after isn't in a rush. Mind you neither am I. Liz needs a more economical runabout so a TZD turbo or ZX TD is what I'm after too. And I'd do the Citroen Classic Challenge in that. I somehow don't think - even if it was ready - I'd put the GS through the Challenge - but make sure it's ready for the National 2012 and ICCCR.

I shouldn't be somehow considered a traitor to the cause, (Not that you have suggested such, Jaba), I am well known for being fickle, but my track record of ownership speaks for itself, with 13 or 14 BXs alone to be included in my Citroens past and present.

I will post some pics this weekend. It's not that bad TBH if welding and a bit of metal pulling is your thing

But I will let the pics speak for themselves (although I won't necessariliy be able to take the bumper off and so on)...

Fair point, but the Challenge is a fair way off and I want something different for that. Also the fuel economy would count against it...

I don't understand! It isn't the first BX I've sold. I'm sorry if I upset anybody this time around, but there's lots more I want to do in the Citroen arena. I'm sure I'll be a BX owner again one day soon (there IS a plan afoot...), but in the meantime I have a few things I want to get out of my system.

BUT I understand fellow enthusiasts are somewhat dismayed at my decision. Well, if it doesn't make reserve I might be forced to keep it. To cries no doubt of "I told you so'... Can't win can I?

I don't think you've upset anyone Phil, i think its just surprise that you're getting rid. Its your car & you can do what you wish, just make sure you don't have any regrets down the line thats all. All the best for a sale & a top price, i've always liked the colour so think it should do well even though its high miles

Thanks, Mulley.... I know on the face of it, it does seem an odd decision, but I have limited time, space and budget and I want to explore other areas of Citroen ownership. And (although it isn't the main factor) running a BX GTi auto for short trips day in, day out is killing the (our) economy!

Having said that, I have a friend in France actively seeking a particular, never available in RHD version of our favourite car. Sadly, my budget is probably too restricted for now. Maybe when it climbs a little I might ensnare one? But this is a mid-term plan.

Sorry, Richard, I wanted to take advantage of the free listing weekend, so things ran away with me a bit and I forgot to post pics here first. But For a decent enough offer I will always pull the listing for a member.
