Alright laydeez, untwist thy knickers. No offence meant. I was a late comer to the 'shoeing' anyway and was only intending a gentle bit of waggery.

I think it's time we had an official statement from Richard of York himself!

Fair enough - if anyone can't stand a little piss-taking here-and-there on this site, then they really should look elsewhere. I'm sure Richard can take it - when that's what it is. It's the spillover into what could be perceived as organised shit-stirring that goes against the grain IMHO.

Really? What is there to explain? Am I missing something?

As I see it, cars become known, and if he's interested Richard grabs them, puts them somewhere safe, and then works out what to do with them next: be it breaking for parts (which have often been offered on here for free....) or selling them on. Sometimes, there may be a profit, but that seems to be rare, and I doubt it balances the losses.

In the case of my TRS - it would have been cubed most likely, and certainly cost Richard more to purchase, collect and house than the £100 I paid him for it... what's immoral in that?

Ive got my tin hat on and venturing over the top.
Sorry if my enthusiasm has caused some people offense or otherwise. It really isnt my intention, my reasons are quite simple and it just boils down to this . Im not really into lovely shiny cars that just need a polish for each forthcoming show but it really upsets me to think of what could or is a perfectly saveable Bx just getting squashed because its value doesnt exceed its repair cost.
I am in a fortunate position of having more room up at the farm than is healthy for a collectamaniac like myself.
Ray is right about the money side of it ,i could just sit back and not bother running all over the country(i have to go to cornwall next week for a scrapper) and be alot less busy and far better off as it is rare that any money is made (but sometimes it does happen)but most of the time recovery and repair cost outway the value of a rescued car anyway, but i really dont see this as a factor.Yes once ive "saved" a car i tend to move it on and usually offer it on the forum as my interest lies in the saving rather than the keeping . I have a few Bx that unless something terrible happens ,i intend to keep like my left hooker ,italian estate. And i hold my hand up to the fact that some cars have been just too far gone and i have broken them but as alot of members will agree am only too happy to let the parts go to keep there cars running.
I hope ive expained myself and actions and again i appologise if my enthusiasm offends.
Richard.

Back on topic,

I am looking for a front height corrector too, I can't find a linkage problem that would cause mine to stay down at the front.

I will probably need the pipes that go to it too.

You can still buy height correctors from Citroen (part no. 529122) though it's hard to see whether that's a front one or a back one. They actually look the same in the diagram. Is the only difference the location of the in/out connections? Probably quite expensive too.

Hardly any of the components for the height correctors are available but two or three are inc. a piece called 'the corrector cup'. I've never see a strip and rebuild but didn't 'aerodynamica' investigate its workings a couple of years back?

As for the pipes : safety valve to H/C (95 567 431) is still available

H/C to 3-way (95 603 487) isn't available anymore.
