Bit of a long shot but you never know.
I'm after a complete Series 2A or 3 LWB Landrover as a project. Ideally a pickup, would take a hard top, not interested in Estate/Safari. Ideally something running and complete rather than a complete basket case. If it had a short MoT so I could drive it home that would be perfect but it's not the end of the world if it hasn't. Needs to be standard engine/trans as it's to bring to France and modified vehicles are a pain to register.
Oh, needs to be cheap, and probably no further North than about Leicester.
Anyone know of anything?
Cheers,
Kev

She doesn't know yet, so if you don't tell her, I won't either....
But the 2CV race car went to a new home yesterday, the Cady went a couple of weeks ago, and the AK is, inshallah, on its way to the States (if Jeff hasn't cocked up the paperwork). So Ijust thought I'd make a few tentative enquiries....
Speaking of new vehicles, I hear you've got something else too...? Or is that the Visa Club that's popped up in your list?
Might be over your way at the weekend - any chance of borrowing your pointing gun?

Yes the 'new' Visa has turned up - some pics on the Visa forum - it may need a new heat exchanger, not sure if they are the same as a 2cv, perhaps you could have a look and let me know.
You're welcome to try the pointing gun, we've never managed to get anything to come out of it - I think a big icing bag might be a better bet.

Not sure if the heat exchanger's the same as 2CV but will try and find out. If it's leaking fumes into the car it's just as likely to be a leaky head/barrel seal and might be sorted by torqueing the heads down.
Pointing gun's only for forcing some mortar in between ome oak beams aboe a doorway, rather than for any amount of actual pointing, so it might be ok - worth a try anyway.

Have found out the problem, the front part of the 'bellmouth' has corroded away a bit, so its even more of a s*d to fit.
