did you mean to aim theat at me tim??

I aint selling mine (no one stupid enough to buy it!), and the chances of me finding a BX16v Ph2 red with leather interior, all the annoying jobs done with three sets of wheels and enough spares to build a whole nother BX AND with a 1.9TD Xantia engine that has been mildly 'fettled' are, well quite frankly none!

However if i was in Kitches position and had speant over a year rebuilding the car (hmmm, actually i have!) and had put so much money into it and so many new parts (something i havent done :D), then there isnt any way in gods own earth that i would optionally part with the car!

In my mind by BX is simply a blood donor for my later life, well on the grounds of how much i've bled into the damn thing it must have a good couple of pints saved up!

Well it does need the pump, and I found a pool of gearbox oil under it today.....hopefully just a seal. If its more serious, it'll be staying here with me

IMHO I don't think you should sell it. Mainly because I can't afford it yet, but seriously, for what it's worth, Kitch, I think you should aim to get the jobs done that it needs - pump and that leak. Enjoy driving it in spring/summer - even take it to LeMans in August for the BX meet and then advertise it as a 'drive -way', 'nothing needs doing'-type deal. Someone will pay top dollar for it...

Oh if I decided to keep it and got all the jobs done I'd definately never get rid of it. Its just that having worked on it for a year solid, I'm sick of getting the spanners out with it!

I don't think I've thought this through enough! I doubt it'll make reserve either, so I'm not worrying and theres time to get things sorted.

On a different topic the recently new owner of the Visa GTi emailed me to ask if that was his car! Small world.

On the subject of the Visa - is there a UK forum/site/club? Or is it all CCC? I'd like to know if anybody's considering selling a good Visa GTi one day...

Id like to know if anyone is considering selling a Visa GTi ful stop, I want another, for keeps.

Kitch, if thats how you feel about the car do NOT sell it.

I've had 3 cars in my life i should NEVER have sold.

CX 25GTi Turbo
Visa Gti 115ch
CX 25 Pallas ie auto

I would be out for a loan like a shot if any of these cars ever crossed my path again.

You might be sorry parting with that one, it looks like an excellent BX and nowadays with them becoming a modern classic you could lose out financially, I have an 8valve GTI pump left over from a project in the garage if its any good to you.

Pumpin'

Post by Mike E (uk) »

Hi,

I forked out for a new HP pump for my 16v, and its so much better than the rattly old one that gave intermittant steering assistance on cold days.

Well worth the £120 from Eurocarparts.

I am so pleased, that I have treated the car to a Momo leather steering wheel! :D

Don't sell the car- you will forgive it everything when its running well again.
