How tempting now it's up here! Strange to see it again so fast though.

If i would have known he was going to sell it on. I would hae kept the alternater as well. A nice chap drove from kent off the french car fourm He just gave me it for free.
I thought he was going to put the alternater in the car use it.

That's life!
In my defence and if you read the listing on Ebay the only thing that has defeated me is upon closer inspection to find the fibreglass matting covered by copious amounts of underseal in the nearside front arch otherwise i would be keeping the car as all other aspects of ownership apart from welding pose no issues to me. If i had noted the bodge i would not have bought it and returned home empty handed. I certainly did not travel a 300 mile round trip purely to look at listing it on Fleabay and i am not anticipating a profit though if i do so be it. I have spent time making the car a little more presentable and have fitted a recon HP pump due to the cars issues. I do love cars period be it my BX or my MX. It's not about the money it is simply that i don't weld and thought i had purchased a car with issues but no rot to speak ... I apologise to the dissappointed.

Do you mean a type of sporting Mazda, MX3/5 etc?
Other wise im stumped also.
Back on topic for a moment though,
How much welding does it need? is it as bad as people have joked at like 2 cars welded together? hence all the rear glass been different? How bad is the oil leak? as most of the ones ive had leak a bit anyway? Has changing the pump cured the issues Paul was having?
Richard.

Perhaps he meant XM. If so, be kind to a typo, guys - you did kind of have his back to the wall...
I was in a similar position with my CX 22TRS not that long ago (see this month's Citroenian for the write-up... {have I mentioned being chuffed to bits to get an article published? } ) in that I'd have walked away from the car had I discovered all the rot, and having travelled a long way would have ended up spending over £200 on train tickets for a wasted day... Had the ebay listing been honest I'd never have bid!
But I bid, I won, I went (sounds like a Roman speech this.. ) and having got there, I gave the car a chance. I know I am not going to make a profit on the sale, but it was a lesson I needed to learn, I guess. The alternative was to come home empty handed, and who wants to do that?
Back to Paul's ex-BX. Paul sold it, and so what happens next is the choice of the new owner. As Dollywobbler said, there's not much chance of making a decent profit on reselling BX's, so I doubt it was a calculated move. Sadly the car had rust problems that only came to light after aynako50 had bought it, and so he's decided it's not for him, tidied it up a bit and is moving it on - I can't see anything wrong there, except to say:
Sellers should be honest about the condition of items for sale, but buyers should not take this for granted and in the end it is the buyer who should make sure he's satisfied before going through with the transaction.
That's my 20 roubles worth - I'm off to bed now

Well i wish you luck on the sale. i just hope the new owner can do more About the bodge job. It was that or spending more mony on the car. You should have seen it before. You could see though the floor. Fiberglass is pretty strong. I think you would peobily get 300 to 350 on it. Max 400. I Spent all of that time and mony on it. I had to give up in the end. I still blame MEDWAY I suppose i saved it. But just needs a bit more doing to it.
