T pipe bit for LHM Reservoir

Post by Mothman »

Has anyone a spare T pipe or whatever you call it for the bit that fits on top of the reservoir cap.

Yes - I've got some of these available at cost + post - they weren't cheap though (I'll have to look for them and the original invoice).

Malcom (Citronut) has previously suggested that the T piece used elsewhere is cheaper and a better fit - probably good advice :-)

This reminds me that my T-piece broke and as a temporary measure I just plugged the actual return pipe into the rubber on top of the LHM reservoir cap, and ignored the overlow pipe, which IIRC just goes into a void in the wing anyway. That was at least a couple of years ago and I don't seem to have noticed any deleterious results - any reason why I should change my mind and track down a new T piece to put it back to standard?

Good point – I'll get it sorted next time I'm under the bonnet polishing the inside of the radiator hoses... :D
