Just found the thread you mentioned Ken, forgot about that one, am looking at the seal kit mentioned as to the 17mm bolts tried then withj a t bar on a socket almost bent the t bar. Going to try aquiring a knuckle bar and a better 17mm socket will let you knowken newbold wrote:How come you never replied to the original thread on this

Malcolm
The car failed it's mot on the rear discs, I was cleaning them up using a wire wheel and tried to undo the calipers to remove them to make life easier unfortunately when trying to undo the second bolt the caliper twisted apart breaking any seals inside. or are there no seals inside and the fluid was just spilt from the twist?

If you don't know what you're doing with brakes, it would be safer to leave them to someone who does.

Indeed! I just find it annoying when people post on here asking for help and advice, then when it's given, can't be bothered to respond and just start another thread on the same subject.
I even offered to source serviceable parts for this guy and Malcolm came forward with the parts list and numbers.
Just makes one wonder why one bothers.

there bis just a small O ring clamped between the two halves at the point the fluid transfers from one half to the other,
there is a slight resess the in one half to keep the seal locatted,
very simple realy,
were abouts are you locatted,

even if you get citro blood on the pad just wipe off as much as possible then the rest will burn off in use, unlike the orible vegy brake fluid,
