Hello chaps, anyone got an idler for the alternator belt, from a turbo d BX, with air conditioning?
Mine squeals like hell, and I'm told they are like rocking horse s**t!

The idler may be rocking horse poop but most idlers have standard size bearings in them that are readily available and often easily replaced. It may be worth taking it off and seeing if yours is changeable?

Well, I was expecting a big problem trying to obtain one of these....
but as it turned out, if you tap in the original part number 6453c6 into google, and sift through the results, you can obtain them quite easily, from Germany.
I got this one from http://seekpart24.com/ and paid about €80 including shipping.
Not bad I thought....
