Re: Ignition set, 2 keys 2 door locks.
sorry to jump your quesion Tim
I got rid of my handguns after Hungerford (and before Dunblane). I had a 1917 artillery Luger with an 8 inch barrel, with detachable wooden stock and normal 8-round mag and the 32-round snail drum mag, beautiful it was, incredibly accurate.
it's not a rifle, it's a muzzle loading revolver with an 8 inch barrel. I think one requires a firearm certificate if it's not de-activated. Unless they're muzzle loading, all handguns (hand firearm)are otherwise illegal.bx petrol auto saloon wrote:Dear Andy.

Even a plastic BB fired from a spring powered BB gun will crack an LCD monitor (I saw my son accidentally do it to his younger brother's monitor). So I would think that even a low powered BB fired into one's eye from several feet would cause blindness. A gas powered plastic BB is much more powerful, we fired the gas powered one at the cracked monitor and it ripped the LCD surface apart. If you were to put steel BB's into a gas powered BB gun I dread to think how powerful it would be, at close range more powerful than a basic air rifle, though when I was about 11 years old, my brother had a powerfull .22 air rifle with telescopic sights with an effective range on birds at 50m.
So if you had an air rifle fired at your eye, I guess it wasn't a direct hit, else it would probably reach the brain through the eye.
Before Dunblane, to own a handgun (firearm) you had to be a regular member of a gun club for 6 months before you got a licence. That taught total respect for the firearm, such that when I got mine, I never ever pointed them at another person, ever. To consider shooting someone with one's own gun would be impossible for people who were members of such a gun club. I think that Hungerford, Dunblane, etc. came about because the gun clubs they attended were not as well run as the one I attended. Indeed I remember that one person was thrown out of the club I attended for continual juvenile behaviour with their unloaded gun, and they were reported to the police as no longer being a member of the club. They would have quickly joined another club to retain their licence, that was the flaw, they should have surrendered their guns and licence and started again.
Anyway, as Tim asked, has anyone bought the lock set?

Quite right it bounced off something and I dont think he meant to do it, although he was a bully! even so I wore an eye patch for a week and has left me with a slightly damaged left eye, needless to say the gun was confiscated, for a short while at least.BX Meteor wrote: So if you had an air rifle fired at your eye, I guess it wasn't a direct hit, else it would probably reach the brain through the eye.
