The condition of that is incredible - like new. Anyone who has/had a Mk.1 knows how quickly the interior aged - there can't be a better one than that. Looks as though it was worth the 1500 sheets. Is it going to be incorporated into the 'collection of very privates' er 'very private collection' ( sorry, can't help myself  ) or offered for sale for 5000?

Even so Its hardly mint...
:? The Interior looks as good as new to me, and the minor body work issues that it has can be easily put right by a good body/paint shop 8)

Todd, I agree with you on your comment of 'the condition' but differ on your price comment, as it was £1850 (Hammer price) and more with purchaser's taxes/idemity etc. + theres the cost of transportation to add into consideration before it could even be washed/valeted etc.

Mark, has this been offered up for sale then already ?

If this is not the case :? I can't really see the point of your /\ comment, if you'd really wanted it you'd should have bought when it was available at the auction.

But then it may have realised a lot more £'s !

Keep an eye out of the classifieds, Mr Rugg has sold it to a classic car collector/seller.

You never know Tim, hopefully the new owner - whoever it ends up being - will keep it on the road for special occasions and shows. I have seen it in the tin and it does make it quite obvious that beautifully restored is never going to be *quite* the same as 'new'. That's not to put down the effort that goes into beautiful restoration - just the appearances are different is all.

I can't quite help thinking that it's a bit of a shame that it's likely that this lovely BX will never really be used (yeah yeah, anthropomorphic, the car doesn't care blah blah blah, but might as well go the whole hog and say that I imagine it being all mournful and pleading to be let out  )
