Sounds interesting, Tim. Would be just the ticket maybe?

In the meantime, it's always possible to put a bench seat in the back of a C15...

Imagine it would be a hoot on a road trip event. Could sleep in it too. Just.

That C15 does look uber-cool Phil!

Thanks Tim, after another night of delivering in the astra (and in the pouring rain) with front tyres that are legal, but only by a few mm - I am spurred on anew to replace it!

That's reawakened a desire (if that's the right word) for a C15 van for me. Partly because over in France you see them in amazing states of (dis)repair, yet seemingly just keep going!

there was indeed, last I heard of it, it was being reshelled, but that was some time ago and nothing more has been heard...

I'd love a C15, with a T16 engine and BX rear beam, but I'd make sure it looked battered and unkempt!

I'd have a 205 over an AX anyday, and whilst the diesel ZX isn't that inspiring to drive they were not a bad little car at all (although I'd have the 1.9i Volcane)
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

There was a go faster C15 on Ebay a few months back, I think with valver running gear.

Looks wise I prefer an AX to a 205, but I don't fit them . Visas are good but any model, let alone diesels is difficult to find these days.

From a practical point of view ZX's are as cheap as frites, easy to maintain and economic to run.

I thought the Austins had hydraspastic but the Rovers had hydragas? Hence why they always look "slammed" as nobody ever services it

Tom just get a 205 and bang on about how it nostalgic of the 80s it is

Tom, if you're skint, why not just get something cheap and cheerful to run into the ground until you have the GT back on the road and a bit of spare cash to think about a nicer daily?

If you're not in a position to afford another "keeper", then you'll just get frustrated about not being able to look after multiple cars the way you want to (and don't tell me that a second BX wouldn't be a keeper  ). Big =D> to you for taking a very horrible job rather than just sitting there on JSA watching Jeremy Kyle (and I mean that) - but having "been there, done that" meself, trust me sweetie, sometimes unimportant principles have to be sacrificed. Just buy a bloody Corsa as a temporary measure and have done with it.

Thanks hun, my shoulder demons have been arguing with me about just that^ I had no intention for this car to be a keeper btw, just a gap filler.

Shoulder Demon One: just bloody get a cheap, diesel corsa/ax/205 until have a better job!

Opposing Shoulder Demon: BUT if you have a job you dislike, in a car that you also dislike and have to put up with both for a while then it'd be easier if you have something to drive that you at least like.

So conclusion? I am looking at all sorts of diesels, little ones and medium sized ones for the time being, and if the RD that Tim knows of comes up and is affordable then that will be that! If not however, I expect it'll be a little weasel.

Tom, seeing as you like big 4x4's, how about a Ford Explorer or a Chevy Suburban with a LPG conversion.

Shoulder Demon One: are the roads that you're driving as part of the job really so interesting/fun that some decent music wouldn't make up for a good chunk of that?

I should imagine it's also mostly fairly 'hard' driving - 10-20 minutes urban, back to base for the next delivery etc - would you really want that wear and tear on a keeper?

EDIT. Shit. I'm sounding sensible. *PANICS* Please tell me I'm not grown up, I won't be grown up ~sob

Forget I said anything. Buy this. Wants a bit of cleaning then it'll be lovely.
