For Sale - BX 14RE, Immaculate condition
Re: For Sale - BX 14RE, Immaculate condition
Yes I ll hold my hand up. Got it for my daughter who has wanted a practical classic for ages. I run the transport in the family so it will be looked after! It is logical to have a 16 TGS and a 14 RE. I dislike oil burners anyway so none on my drive. I bought a C Reg 14 RE with part of my Gratuity when I left the RN in 1989 and set up my Shipping Survey & Yacht Consultancy in Gibraltar and did in all thousands of miles across Spain enroute to UK by different routes and it didn't ever let me down... I ll probably borrow it back from my daughter to come to Stratford as Rob M cannot fit in the cambelt change on the 16 until September...

Well done that man! TU engined 14's are great, underrated cars - very well balanced handling, bags of space round the engine for working on it and unless you're going to be doing mega miles, I think they're the best of the 'economy' BX'sYes I ll hold my hand up. Got it for my daughter who has wanted a practical classic for ages.

Eoin you will find that quite different to the earlier suitcase engine, its a TGE not a 14RE but they are much the same.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....
Re: For Sale - BX 14RE, Immaculate condition
Collected it yesterday from its very attractive owner! Super run home on mixed A, B and M'way. It is as good as it looks. Engine space given a good going over with Ballistol - better than WD 40 as it does not evaporate.
And yes different from my C reg 14 RE... That did hundreds of miles across Spain to and fro to Gibraltar and apart from its poor starting in UK it was a stalwart. Only ever had one 'breakdown' a split return pipe at the reservoir... fixed at road side. Any way I'll probably borrow it for Stratford and the CCC an GS/GSA AGMs.
