Cambelt Covers & Intercooler gasket seal required

Post by MULLEY »

Hoping someone has either a new set of cambelt covers for a diesel or non knackered 2nd hand one's?

On the underside of the intercooler is a rubber gasket which mates to the metal surface on the engine, for some reason the one that was fitted has gone missing :( Anyone got a spare new one or a 2nd hand one in good nick please?

I need these parts to get my TZD Turbo back on the road again, she's covered in green moss, but still fired up & eventually rose :o :D

Please PM with your beer token requirements, thanks.

Excellent! That's more than it did when I was 'assisting'. Maybe it didn't like me?

Cam cover gasket should be easily available from a factors or eBay, and the intercooler seal is too! (Actually the latter surprised me, as I was expecting it not to be!)

Which type? The older clip on ones or the newer bolt on ones?

I might have some of the older clip on ones some where, probably in storage.

HaHa, no worries Mat :)

I believe they are the clip on type Vanny, i didn't even realise there were 2 different types? The way you describe them made me think, should a K reg car have the clips or the bolt on's? Pretty sure when i last looked there were clips that i could see. If you do find some in good nick, let me know how many beer tokens :) Cheers

Cheers for the part no malcolm, ironically they are cheaper than the one's on ebay.

Both my K reg ones have clip ons - I've only personally seen the bolt ons in Xantias and ZXs.

I'll go with your greater experience on that one then, you've probably worked on more than I have!

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

I was always under the impression the clip-ons were the later ones? To speed up servicing i'd presume?

thats what J said!
But no, early engines had clip ons, later were bolt on, I dislike the bolt ons. I'll swop the engine plate over on mine at some point and revert to clip ons
