Cheers Mike. I've got some roll pins at work so might have them sussed for now.

Hello from Finland! My first post on this forum. :) Pardon my English.

Seems that my valver is having the same problem as Kitch's. I disassembled the extra fuel tank for some wheel arch welding and there the metal piece came down crumbling.

Kitch, did you manage to solve that filler neck nozzle thing?

It seems to be quite hard to find a replacement filler neck. So now I am considering buying just the bayonet 'bung' part of a filler neck nozzle, making the flange part myself, and having them brazed together.

I am yet to measure the dimensions from the remains of the nozzle and start hunting for that bayonet bung part on the net.

Chevronics are selling the longer neck version so you could buy that and removing the locking flange (if you are rich!) Seems like a daft thing to do though, buying a brand new part and then cutting it up to suit...

They also have some second hand necks in stock and they quoted me £40 last week. Fortunately I found a spare locking flange in my spares stash :)

That was exactly what I was hinting at - I was poking fun at myself! But sometimes we do daft things to keep our cars on the road :) The thought did cross my mind that the filler necks at Chevronics were an option (last resort) if I couldn't find one elsewhere.

Y'see, it's a full-on guilt-trip! You're still beating yourself up about hacking up that poor defenceless hatchback panel. Quick - donate the offcuts and rest easier at night.

Thanks for the replies!

Those at Chevronics seem quite nice, pretty steep price though. They sell second-hand ones, too? Have to ask if they still have those.
