roof bars for BX Estate in Lidl

Post by citsncycles »

Just got myself a set of locking roof bars with a 90kg weight limit for £27 in Lidl - they even list BX Estates on the application list! The only other's I've found at this price had a much lower capacity.

Would those be suitable for a car with roof rails?

Not all estates have roof rails! Although to be fair, every one I've ever seen has them.

I should have picked up a pair of these while I was in LIdl yesterday - maybe I'll pop back this afternoon. What I did buy was a couple of little self-heating gel pads - great pocket warmers for cold days in the workshop for about 1.4 euros a pair.

Nice one Mike :D That's sorted out where I'm going shopping tomorrow.

90Kg is a very good spec - the limit for the roof load on the estate is 100Kg evenly distributed so this looks to be the right sort of kit for the job.

I've never seen an estate without rails in the UK, although I found out from those Citromania articles that the low spec estates in Europe don't have them.

These bars will in theory fit any car with roof rails - I was just surprised that they listed both the BX and XM estates in the application list.
