Moved the old girl this morning, started up easily athough sounded like a tank as the exhaust is shot. There is a bodge under the bonnet to supply fuel as nothing is coming from the tank but it shows a quarter full.
I am coming to the conclusion that she should be saved as i cant find any serious rust anywhere other than the doors.I also think the dent in the sill could possibly be pulled. what do you think Malcolm?
As for a name, well, the first piccy has blanked out the word 'collected' hence 'Colle'.
However perhaps that should be her name then.

That sill dent looks very similar to Timex's - I plan to have a go with a slide hammer to pull it out, and failing that there are sill panels on Ebay, or I'll make my own section to replace the damage.

Love the temporary fuel tank by the way!

well i tried a slide hammer on my door sill in a few place's, but as the sill is quite heavy gauge metal, it did pull a bit out but mostly it just pulled clean out of the sill,

so i am going to cut it open subtly straighten it and weld it back together,

but the dent to Colle's sill if you go that route it will be best to salvage a section from the scrapper,

maybe you should add a t to the end of Colle to make Collet

They are in the boot Tim.

However she is missing a few other items which i have such as a rear view mirror and the trim that covers the internal inside lights and a washer bottle.

Glad i dont have to replace the front wings as they dont have the side repeaters, got spare MK 1 wings but none without the holes.

Should i add a near side wing mirror though, wouldnt be original if i did? the side is blanked off inside and out.

Well Tim, i have a couple of early MK 2 ones that i hope will do for now.
Will probably have to fit a MK 2 interior for now as well.

Once on the road proper then let the search begin. At least she will be saved, now to get a V5.
