Diesel fuel sender unit wanted NOW Gauge wanted

Does anyone know if they are still available from Citroen? The TZD has been playing up for a while and now drops to zero after initially raising on start up. I have checked the wiring connector on top of the tank and all ok so assume it's the sender unit itself?

Try Paul296 as he & Shaune have a few scrapper BX's, so they might have a spare one available for little money, alternatively BX Bandit is scrapping his car, so might be worth a try? PM is your best friend

I had this on my n/a diesel estate. Just really cleaned all the contacts at the top of the tank, had a real go at them with sandpaper and wire wool and it sorted the problem, both the male and female connectors. May be worth a revisit, certainly less hassle than sourcing and replacing a sender unit.

It will be the sender itself in all likelihood. Yet again it's a part I'm keeping as it is only a year old and works! A Citroen C15 van uses the same unit....If you take apart the actual sender unit to have a look or repair, be really, really, very, extremely gentle in cleaning the 'zig-zag' conducting strips 'bonded' onto the 'pcb' that sits in the fuel - just look at them and they'll fall off - probably the cause of the failure in the first place!

Thanks Andy but visited it twice already; the contacts looked perfect but I still went back and tried contact cleaner as well but no joy. Annoying thing is the sender unit is one of the few parts I left on my old TGD I've just scrapped

I've ordered a new one now which I'm quite happy to do whilst they are still available as I have no plans on getting rid of this car so long term reliability is my priority even if I have to pay a premium. I get a sense of satisfaction out of pampering the old girl as it gives me so much back from my small initial investment and zero depreciation.

Having changed the sender for a new Citroen unit my fuel gauge still isn't working properly (won't go above 1/4) although the new sender reads differently than the old sender? I have also re-wired the wiring plug just to eliminate it but can only assume the problem now lies with the gauge itself.
Has anyone got a fuel gauge / oil level pod unit I can buy?
