Wanted: Herringbone seat

Can anyone help me with a new seat?

The car has the Herringbone interior

My drivers seat has a terrible repair on it and also must have collapsed internally as it is very uncomfortable compared to the passenger seat.

I'd prefer a passenger seat which will have less wear. I should be able to swap the swabs over without too much difficulty.

I suppose you want to keep the interior as is ?

If not, I do have a full set of seats in Black velour 'Halley' (with the Grey stripe) which are in Superb condition, which are available straight away (As its dry stored in my loft space) complete with all the door handles and door cards but may not blend so well with your Grey interior dash/carpets





These were fitted to the later TXD models (the same as the one recently sold on E-BAY ) send me a PM for more details if interested ?

Hello again Richard. I find it quite funny how there are so many pics of my car already on here! It's really interesting to read about it. I'd like to keep the interior herringbone, mainly for budget reasons! But thank you very much for the offer.

The herringbone colour is very rare & probably impossible to get. Your best bet would be to see if you could get the seat re-upholstered & the padding sorted as well, no idea about cost tbh, but worth it to get sorted imho.

I disagree with you Matt, they were fitted to many TGD models !
I had a almost a full interior available up to approx. last year before scrapping my Black 17 TGD, but left them in the vehicle as nobody was interested (Apart from the drivers seat which a forum member had requested a couple of years ago) !

I'm sure something will turn up in within the week for James (hopefully) !

Matt/Tim can your remember if there was any BX's which had the 'Herringbone' interior @ the Bourne Citroën Centre (when we were there back in October) ?

Ok, they might have been common in the TGD models, but BX's are now rare & finding a scrapped one with a decent seat i think is going to be tricky tbh, but i'm always prepared to be wrong though Fingers crossed you can get one sorted for low £'s & sooner rather than later.

The seat base is incredibly easy to swap over, so unless you regularly carry a passenger I'd do that for the time being. Just unclip the large rubber band underneath, and they just lift out.

James, as Mat /\ has stated just swap the seat base's over for now until you find a good donor from a passenger side !

As I can see why your finding the driver side uncomfortable to sit in :-



But just remember to un-clip the two wire retaining clips on the leading edge of the seat-base where they lock onto the seat frame (As Mat omitted that fastener/feature)

Hi James, No need to keep your fingers crossed if its just the seat base your after ?

As I found this morning in my garage, a spare seat base with the 'Herringbone' pattern just needs a good cleaning session on it and I'm sure it should come up okay, it even has one cigarette burn on it to match the passenger side

But at least it not broken/collapsed like your current drivers side seat base !
