BLUE BX wanted.
Dear all. Just joined the BX club today, don't know why so late though.
I used to have a silver BX 14RE (2 years or so ago), and have been offered a red 19D, but I want a blue BX! These don't seem to come around very often... does anyone know of one that might be up for sale soon? Ideally should be another 14, though would consider a 17TD or 19D, can't be any fussier than blue!! Though I think I would pass if it were an automatic. The perfect car sold on here / ebay end of last year!
My Ami 6 saloon is doing my head in currently and should've been laid up for winter ages ago. Miss the overwhelming comfyness.

Re: BLUE BX wanted.
Welcome to the club bud, but why blue?
A low mileage BX would surely be the way, bugger the colour!!
Green is the new blue isnt it and there's a few around on feebay of that colour.
Red could be blue too if you squinted at it and there is a very good one for sale at the moment.
As far as these motors go, i dont think colour comes into it. Its rarity and condition and if you come across a very low mileage motor in pink, just go for it.

I dislike the green ones. Olympic blue is superb and Romantic isn't bad.

I'm a triton convert. I'm yet to polish and wax it to appreciate properly But agree that olympic blue is rather fab, perhaps the best BX colour? I also like the cream/ivory and delage red too.

Re: BLUE BX wanted.
Ime sorry but as these motors are getting quite rare now, i dont think colour comes into it. Tell me Tom, if you didnt like the colour of your Mk 1 you wouldnt have bought it??
OK, ime right, you bought it as it was a magnificent motor and the colour came with it. Bloody lucky to have got it too. If you dont want it, ile have it[lol].
I dont think we can get too choosy these days as a bargain will slip through our hands these days. Its all about how good the actual motor is, what colour the damned thing is is irrelevant.

Re: BLUE BX wanted.
A simple scenario....
A blue BX for sale, n/a diesel 200k on the clock.
A red BX for sale n/a diesel 40 k on the clock.
Both for sale at similar price. Which one do you buy?
It aint rocket science.

Re: BLUE BX wanted.
I have to agree with you Andy, I would never advise someone to choose a car based on it's colour. That would be quite daft. My last BX was immaculate. Low mileage, no rust, no dents, no scratches, perfect interior and everything worked. But it was grey / silver. I don't do grey / silver cars! In fact I believe all cars look best in a certain colour.
2cvs should be bamboo green, or celeste blue. Dyane's yellow.
Ami 6's should be light egg blue or maroon...
CX's should be blue... I would like a saab 900, but only if it were dark green.
Very bizarre. But if there's no hurry then the perfect car can wait...
Having said all that, I will almost certainly take up the offer of the red 1.9D I was offered..... unless there's a blue one going? That Mk1 maroon one looks very nice though!

Hi bud,
this is being sorted for me as we chat by Malcolm down in St Leonards. Light blue in colour with 65k on the clock and an automatic diesel but the only known Mk 1 auto in the UK.
I couldnt care if it was red, black or blue, other than its an exceptionally low mileage Mk 1 for her age.Not perfect but pretty damned good.

Re: BLUE BX wanted.
I think that's the best advise, that's probably what I will do in the end. Red is a colour at least. It's all faded and matt too! I quite like that, looks like it's been sitting in the south of france!MULLEY wrote:Take the Red one & in the meantime keep an eye out for your dream coloured BX when it comes up, it might be tomorrow or next year, you just don't know.
And as for that CX. I'm left speechless.
