Oil filler cap missing - Would any TU one do?
Oil filler cap missing - Would any TU one do?
I've driven off without replacing the oil cap, and it's gone. If I order one for any TU engined car, will it fit? Obviously, I would rather have the correct one so if anybodys got one, which in itself would be unusual, then I'd prefer to offer some beer money for that.

I imagine one from a 1.4 should.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Yes; that's what I thought too, but if on ebay, under the parts own advertisments, you can select make and model, and it says it won't fit a BX 1.4, so I am a little unsure. I can't imagine there are more than one design of rocker cover for a TU series 1.4 engine, so maybe it's just lazy input on behalf of the advert's application list.

I bought a Peugeot one. You really can't miss it now. Even a 4 year old would know where to put the oil

Yeah all 8v petrol TUs are the same, even the later cars. The caps look different but they still fit.

Yes - I was pleased that it fitted as I had been told (by an ebay sellers database), that it wouldn't, but common sense told me that it would be the same. I should have searched the net for pictures of engine bays to be sure I guess. Now, it's got a giant yellow picture of an oil can on it, so you really can't forget it which is handy. I was actually surprised to find that only fumes escaped when I drove off and that no oil came out.
