Newly acquired BX in need of some bits

Post by Philip Chidlow »

Here's my first shopping list:

Driver's side wing mirror complete.

Front fogs (yeah, right... lol)

Spray bar and wiper arm.

Possibly a driver's side window regulator; I need to investigate.

Front bumper plastic end caps.

And that's it for now....

If anyone can help please pm me... ta!

I'll have to look but I might have a mirror - I take it you need a manual one.

Window regulator, front or rear? Again I'd have to check but may have an electric one - I'm pretty sure I have a manual one but guess that's no good for you!

Yep, it's a manual mirror I need, thanks. It's possible I'll need a new drivers side front regulator as it's clicking a bit, but I'll have to wait and see, when I take the door card off.

Whilst you're ordering your TZD graphics from Rob Moss, ask him to pop a spray bar into the order as well. :-)

New TZD Graphics in silver, new spray bar, new wiper arm, new TZD wheel trims x 4, S/H door mirror all available. When you say bumper end caps do you mean the plastic retainers that slot into the wing? there are different types apparently but I have some of those too if required.

Just seen this: all very interesting. I've got to go out so will reply via PM later. But essentially it all seems good: regarding the trims are they the 'rattly' dish type or the flat 'Z' style? (I want the former)... Cheers P

Oh and yes the black bits that slot onto the bumper ends where they meet the arch.

Look forward to it... Those trims are beautiful although to be honest they will probably be (and should be in that condition) too expensive - almost in used alloy territory? And if I scuffed one I'd be heart broken! Although I'll consider if the price is manageable, I think I'll either go down the alloy route or find some slightly less than perfect trims... And although I'm not too pedantic most of the time they're TXD trims lol

Do I sound ungrateful? I'm not I assure you, Kev! ;)

As a matter of interest what colour were the decals on white cars? The ones on there at the moment are grey! So could be faded black or silver lol

TZD usually silver on white, the trims I have are original fitment TZD trims Phil, possibly slightly different than those in the link , i'll dig em out later when I get back from Sheffield and sent some piccies.

Kevan, The link you posted only shows the #10 'TZD' 'Z' trims !

Image

I believe the ones you have F/S are the original TZD/GTi 'Rattly' type (When the trim/ring carriers get worn) and are the type which Phil is looking for, as below :-

Heres the LINK for J953 LLN (for ref.) which recently sold on E-bay in June !

Time to close some deals. Kevan, (as you got in first lol) depending upon price I will take the 'rattly' trims off you if they're the same as Richard points out above. I'll also take a silver decal set. As for the spray bar I'll also take it (again dependant on price) but I'll skip new wiper arm as the rest of the car isn't up to that standard. ;)

I do need a manual mirror and an o/s end cap/blade for the front bumper. So to be fair Rutter123 can you let me know what you'd want?

PM me chaps and I'm sure we can sort it out soon.

Cheers (what a great club :) ) Phil
