Leather seats
Leather seats
Thinking about letting my leather seats go, they have all head rests and the rears are the genuine item not cut down fronts.
I never bothered with the door cards because I found the 16v interior too dark and I am pretty sure the cards that were with the leather are just std cads with black fabric so the 16v cards can be dyed which is what I will do if I do not change back.
The leather ris up for grabs IF I can find a good pair or Monza (striped) front 16v seats
Thanks

I am in Lincolnshire LN10 about 20 minutes from Lincoln.
Price I really hav enot thought about as it all depends on getting a good pair of Monza front seats but I will see about a price for you.
Re: Leather seats
If the Monzas are good then I am happy to do a deal, it has been a while but I think you called or maybe your parents for an exhaust a few years backdjoptix wrote:I might be interested and have spare Monza seats.

Re: Leather seats
The door cards that came with the leather seats are trimmed with very un-classy shiny black plastic, not nice cloth like the Monza & LeMans
They are so awful that no one kept them when they swapped the leather seats between cars.
Hence are now uber rare and therefore highly desirable!

Re: Leather seats
Kinda. They're trimmed with the fabric from the edge of the Monza seats (the ribbed edges, not the stripey centres). The drawback is that at the bottom, they're trimmed in vinyl, rather than carpet, which does cheapen the feel slightly. It doesn't do much for the clang the doors make, eitherMike E (uk) wrote:The door cards that came with the leather seats are trimmed with very un-classy shiny black plastic, not nice cloth like the Monza & LeMans

As you say, rare though. They do look better with the leather interior than the standard cards, no question. But yes, the standard ones are better quality.

Re: Leather seats
Todd, I'll sort out some pictures for you. I'm 50/50 on the leather because I have some 16v seats retrimmed in leather (fronts), so I only really need the other bits, and would like the doorcards for the rarity value... but either way I definitely have a spare pair of Monza fronts.

That is great news, thank you.
It happens a lot but my name is Luke, Todd is my sirname and Toddman was somethig that started when I was about 14 and a mate decided my CB handle should be Toddman and it stuck LOL!

I knew that, what a moron I am. I'm Rob by the way. I haven't been back to the car (it's at my folks) but I will get them to take some pics for me, and/or stop by there over the weekend.

Just give me a shout when you get chance to lok at the seats, they won't be an issue for the MOT unless th etester slides out of the leathers and crashes

Back from the dead!
Here are some pictures.
I've had a close look at them now, the issues that I can see are:
* Two of the lines across the seats have done that thing where they "pop up" (you know what I mean) - one on each seat. I think this is fixable;
* Very very small holes as shown in pic 3. I suspect cigarette ash.
Generally they're in good condition, probably better than the ones I had in my other 16v. Even the driver's side bolster isn't very worn (but they are from a 60k mile car).
