Play in the steering can be caused by many things, have you checked the bushes in the bottom wishbones as these can break up or go soft from oil contamination, also check the tie rod ends as these are prone to wear and the same for the bottom ball joints, there is a coupling in the steering rack just up behind the pedals this may be worth checking too., im not sure repairing any sort of valve will rid play in the steering, do u mean the doseur valve or flow valve? Or maybe its the actual pas rack that is worn? Is your tracking set properly? Are your tyres correct pressure? Are your spheres well gassed? Front wheel bearings ok?All the above can contribute towards the feeling of play in the steering.

Hi, Well don't know last years mot advisory says both track rod end ball
joints has slight play, 2.2.B1F also another garage says it needs
a steering assistance valve replaced. I'm lost at the moment
what to do.

If it's play in the front wheels either rack end or track rod end if it's on the steering wheel the joints on the colum or in the donut

Well you start with these advisory items from the MOT, slight play in a ball joint can show up as quite severe play in the steering system, replace these ball joints first.
