The name rings a bell but I don't think he's in the BXC or CCC.I have a hunch that he may be a Citroen specialist from Dewsbury.Ken would know if he was not otherwise disposed

Spoke to Peter as per the e-bay ad, very nice chap in his 70's, semi-retired, had a long chinwag about how he got into citroens etc..

Seems very knowlegeable, can do petrol to diesel conversions, has loads of spares, so i have ordered some off him for reasonable money. May be a good contact for work thats beyond the cababilities of most people or for pure advice on whether to bother with doing certain jobs due to complexity etc...

Apparently still has a few customers who he looks after, perhaps he may have a few more after this post, if he can be bothered as he is kinda retired now, but if you dont ask you dont get.

Hope somone finds this useful.

Not sure if anyone is aware or not, but i was never happy that my BX suspension was right, went to my local garage & they priced up 5 new spheres inc fitting £160 with a 1yr warranty. Not bad, but found a website for a company in Manchester that specialises in Citroen Spheres for all the different models, xantia, bx, cx (missed any?).

They would fit all 5 reconditioned spheres for £125 including the spheres themselves & give u a 3yr warranty. They are a father & son team, very knowledgeable & friendly. The car now has its magic ride back & the handling is spot on. Also had the LHM tank cleaned out with all the filters cleaned as well, this cost an extra £40, then topped back up with nice new LHM. So for a £5 more than local garage, i got some extra work done & an extra 2yr warranty.

Now before u say reconditioned, they showed me what they do. They dont just re-gass them, they stick one of those medical scope thingys up inside sphere & inspect them for internal damage, if found to be 100% ok they will re-use them (any damage found, they chuck them). They then shot blast the outer & re-paint them. They look as though they are brand new, they even date stamp them when they were done, put stickers on to verify pressure ratings etc... very professional.

Try www.westroen-spheres.co.uk

Anybody else out their used their services in the past?

Glad u found it useful cavmad, if u go visiting, let them know i recommended them (if u describe my car as being a grey anthracite coloured BX GTI they may remember). I was their 1st BX in a while, they do quite a few xantias & the odd cx.

They dont like the non citroen spheres by all accounts, they dont re-gas very well & the quality isnt as good either, i think all my old spheres they put in their recycle box...

Glad to be of service & give something back to all the advice received so far.
