BX 16v Black ph2......£100

Post by Kitch » Thu Aug 17, 2006 4:56 pm

Right its nothing I own, but a chap local to me (name remaining secret....205ers!) has a black BX 16v ph2....he wants £100 for it. He's moving next Wednesday....it MUST be gone by Tuesday or it gets squashed.

H reg ph2, no A/C or leather but the interior is in good nick.

I went down for a quick look today, obviously at this price no MOT or Tax. It does need work and from what I could see:

Needs rear spheres
Wishbone bushes/new wishbones (only £11 each complete at ECP on clearance)
Ignition barrel....it got removed as the previous owner fitted a starter button :?
NSF Tyre looked low on tread
Metal fuel pipe under the car needs replacing, they're about £20 I think
Cambelt is rattling against the cover.....needs adjusting/replacement. A new cambelt is supplied along with new pads and quite a few spares.

Car does have a sunroof deflector and headlamp protectors. Bodywork is actually pretty good, one rust patch next to drivers door handle (oddly) and the NSF arch spat needs repainting. The rest is actually very shiney, even if it is filthy.
Tiny patches of rust on front of rear arches inside door shut.....very little though. I sadly didn't get to see the inner wings.

Car starts and seemed to run ok. No smoke, gearbox felt smooth but I didn't drive it. Suspension rose quickly and PAS was very light. No stop lights or owt.

Its easily worth a onner, even if you use it for spares. I'd go for it but I already have two and the land I live on doesn't belong to me as it is!

I MIGHT be able to store it until the end of next week if you get stuck for time, but its only a MIGHT.

Hopefully this will benefit someone here. He'd rather scrap it than break it for bits, its not worth his time. But if no one bites on here or BX clubs I'll offer it to some Pug boys I know.....its silly that it be crushed and I'd rather see the bits go to use.

Anymore info, contact me on here or ring 07768 220985. I did get 3 pics on my mobile, so I could text them if anyone wants.

Cheers!

The cars in Southampton. I reckon it would drive, but it would be dodgey to say the least!

If Stinkwheel doesn't buy this one, I'll be interested, do you know which interior it's got in?

All yours Ken,

Im afraid I simply cannot get this sorted in the short timeframe avilable, Im not going to get time to do it before tuesday and even if Kitch could house it until the following weekend im going away on holiday for few days thursday so no time then, how annoying.

Ken: It has the Monza velour.....black bolsters with diaganol grey stripes. All there and looked fairly tidy.

Even if someone bought it for parts, it would serve alot of other cars well. Its a shame but its far better than it being flattened

To be honest, it's the right interior I want for my new estate and if I can organise a trailer I could go get it but it's unlikely to see the road again.

I'll have words with the trailer man tomorrow and see what can be done.

Ken where do you live?

Do you only want the interior ?

If you fancied dropping the car off here, we could pull the interior out and i would obviously be happy to pay an amount of the price of the car. Say 75 quid or whatever and you have the seats for 25 ? Or im open to suggestions.

When i say seats above i obviously mean whole interior :-)

Then i could just do a hunt locally for a decent interior :-)
