BX 1.4 LOW MILEAGE!
Got a call today from a CCC member who is helping a lady sell her BX14. I'm not sure what reg it is but i think its an early 90's model.
Its done 13k. YES, 13K from new. She's a genuine enthusiast too as she's just bought another Citroen. Its condition reflects its mileage as its been garaged all its life.
Its silver.
The price is far FAR too high in my honest opinion and i told him this. He was asking £1200.
I suggested a figure closer to £500 might be more accurate. Tell me if you think i'm wrong.
He's told me that the price is negotiable to a certain extent so if anybodies interested then give me a shout and i'll pass your details on.

The 14's were never popular overall, so I doubt anyone will be bothered, even if it has super low milage. £1200 is in dreamland.
I'd hope it would get more than £500. I'll stick my neck out and say £700. Thats ok-ish MOT'd 16v money.

Ian, i think you are about right on price, the 14's just arent popular, they probably should be but everyone wants either diesels or the higher performance petrols, its in kinda no mans land regarding price.
If its absolutely mechanically, bodywork & switchgear/electrically immaculate & its not a bottom of the range model, then £600 is absolute tops i would have said.
Its going to remain unsold at anything over £700, but us bxers are a strange lot & someone might pay over the odds for this one, hope it goes to an enthusiast rather than someone who buys low mileage cars & runs them into ground..... one day the 14 will be rarer than 16v as they are unloved models.... so grab this one, stick it in barn & then in 10years time its worth £10000, oh ok a grand then.....lol...

I really cant understand why anybody would want a BX14 without power steering when the BX16's cost such little more to insure and run.
The chap i bought my Xantia V6 off had a lovely Olympic Blue 16TXI with 17k on the clock which only sold for £800 and that really was nice.
Thats not the point here anyway, the point is that theres a BX14 for sale for stupid money.
My BX TZD was bought off the original owner with only 32k on the clock. It needed new front struts, spheres, LHM, all the belts, tyres etc etc. I suspect this one will need the same.

I'm sorry but I've found the opposite...They make good sense as run arounds to a larger cit, as they cost £110 to tax for a year. Why have a 16 when the performance isn't that much better than a 14 and you get to pay less to greedy Gordon? I have sold every 14 I had very quickly.
I had a 14TGE and I miss that car especially going to the post office and paying £60 for 6 months!!!!!
I found another from the guy I was ranting about in another thread. He wants £100 and it needs a new clutch. Any takers???
