You're only jealous Tim!

Right then David, when are we getting stuck into this?

I've got a boot full of Gardner engine at the mo, but that can soon be emptied and filled with tools / beer!

The only answer I can give you is "Not instantly"

I am supposed to be having a major clear out of vehicles at the moment, as I've gone beyond gridlock here. What with suddenly having to accommodate a caravan, what was my sister's BX and another CX I might have just aquired, I do have some space issues.

Give it a week or two, and I might be able to have a sensible answer.

I've dragged this thread up from the depths of time as the question of the DIGIT has arisen again.

Same old problems. Too little space, insufficient time and a Landlord on my case.

Now, I don't really want to get rid of this car, but I have to be just a little bit realistic. If there is someone out there who would be willing to take it on and do some/all of the restoration work, then they are welcome to come and take it away, or I could deliver it.

Failing that, I might even be looking for somewhere to store it for a while, so if there's anyone who knows a friendly farmer with some redundant barn space.....

Damnit I wish I owned a farm somewhere and had a sensible amount of dry storage.

I love the idea of The Doc getting his hands on a Digit! Shame it has to go David but that's a good home!

it doesn't *have* to go, it would just be good to have a move around of stuff here to keep my landlord quiet. If the Digit were to go to someone who could do the restoration that I plan to, then that would be OK, but it's not essential, and it's not what I really want to do.

If I'm honest, I do have too much stuff, and I need to have a clear out... I just don't like getting rid of stuff.

My BX-related and other hoarding was once described as borderline-obsessive by someone who should know professionally about such things... but they were wrong, of course.

Of course they were wrong!
You just never know when you'll need a one or three hundred spare wishbones, TD / valver header tanks and the such. Seems perfectley logical to me!

Following on from the "I have corrosion issues" thread, which you can find here, I though I might update the more relevant thread with some photographs.

Here is the Digit in all it's 3-years-off-the-road glory:

Image

Image

Image

Now, this bent rear wing I already knew all about, and was wondering just how to fix:

Image

That is until I discovered this corrosion, which is reasonably serious:

Image

Then looking a bit more, I found more corrosion in the floor:

Image

Sill:

Image

Front scuttle (under the washer bottle.. surprise surprise!):

Image

Fuel filler area (to be fair, this was already quite rotten 3 years ago):

Image

And finally, the bits that will probably mean I have to remove the front subframe:

Image

All this was a bit scary, so I shoved it back in it's hidey hole:

Image

Noticed that it also needs a rear arm bearing, and buggered off to put the kettle on.

Opinions are welcomed. As I say, if it was any other BX it would probably be for the breakers, but I get the horrible feeling that this one ought to be repaired. Not least because it's a non-sunroof model, and I like that.
