Wanted - Spare wheel hanger

Post by mountainmanUK »

Hi chaps!
Just discovered that the mounting bolt/hook on my spare wheel carrier is completely FUBAR!
Apart from being seized solid (soaked in Plusgas for a week and my 2ft breaker bar won't budge it!), it finally "pinged" off the carrier, so I could remove the spare wheel, which I wanted to swap for one with much better rubber! When I had a closer look at the hook/bolt, it is twisted out of shape and bent! Also there is now no way to unscrew it, so I am forced to cut it off with a hacksaw!

Has anyone got a spare bolt/hook lying around in their shed?
Alternatively, do GSF sell 'em?

I'm quite willing to pay a few beer vouchers, but could do with one pretty quick (i.e. before next weekend!!)

cheers
Dave

Crap, sorry mate, I threw one in the bin last week.
Which doesn't help you at all......
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Do you know if Xantias, ZX's, or anything else, uses the same part? More chance of finding one in a scrappy!

That'll do VERY nicely thanks, Tim! :D

I checked around a couple of scrapyards today, but the only similar ones I could find were as bent and seized solid as my old one!

I can do a temporary job with wire for now.

I'll be at the National early Sunday......see you there mate!
(Beer vouchers gladly given in return! )

Cheers
